1) If you but Heart of Thorns or Path of Fire you'll get a level 80 boost included as part of the purchase. It's in the standard edition so you don't need to pay extra for the Deluxe or Ultimate, and if you buy both expansions you'll get 2 boosts. 2) You can buy the boost from the gem store for 2,000 gems. Leveling right now is so painful. I honestly got super excited to play the machinist new job that came out with this expansion and I came back and made a character and wanted to level it to like EXPERIENCE the game. Now I learned it's at level 80. You can pick up some mounts and the glider with that boosted character to unlock them for all your characters. 1. theotherdanlynch • 3 yr. ago. You don't need to boost to 80 to get the mount. Buy PoF and have somebody who is lvl80 party with you. Start the first mission of PoF and tag along while they kill things. I would have quit GW2 without a level 80 boost. Hey guys, 2 week old player here. I kind of feel like I come to this sub to lose upvotes, but whatever I'm going to speak my mind because I feel like I've seen a lot of hate towards the level 80 boosts. So I've seen people say that I'd miss out on the story, that I wouldn't know how to play my Reaching to 30 level is about 1-2 hours job, it is not slow process after steam release and the game truly starts at 80 lvl. Tbh, I used 80 level booster and explored low level maps after that and I regret that since the day 1. The problem is everythirg about your character is in your table and you dont know what you need to use properly. Gw2 works differently from most games. In most games, you have 'vertical progression', aka, you need to do one thing to unlock another, which unlocks another etc etc (think about wow, bdo etc). Gw2 however, uses horizontal progression. Meaning, once you hit level 80, you can do virtually any game mode, any dungeon, map, wvw, Yes, after leveling with ToK and ofc the 80-boost, crafting is still the less time consuming way of leveling. You are gonna need to level ~3 professions tho, since they give you roughly 7 levels each IF I'm not mistaken If he's missing 1 proffesion at 500 he'd like to get there anyway, it's doable with 2. In Guild Wars 2 your character doesn't get [substantially] better the more hours you play, you do. ^ Being in BiS gear means close to nothing if you don't know how to play the game because of the active-combat system.
